Kernpunten

  • Hooikoorts is een IgE-afhankelijke allergische reactie op stuifmeelkorrels (pollen) van grassen, planten of bomen in de lucht.
  • Anamnestische gegevens zijn leidend voor het stellen van de diagnose hooikoorts.
  • Afhankelijk van welke klachten op de voorgrond staan (rinitis of conjunctivitis) kan worden gekozen voor een neusspray en/of oogdruppels.
  • Bij incidentele klachten van rinitis heeft een lokaal of oraal antihistaminicum de voorkeur, bij intermitterende klachten wordt een keuze gemaakt tussen een antihistaminicum of een corticosteroïd neusspray
  • Bij ernstige klachten kan het best worden gestart met een corticosteroïd neusspray.
