Het hand-armvibratiesyndroom komt voor bij mensen die met trilgereedschap werken.
Het syndroom wordt gekenmerkt door periodiek verbleken van de vingers, gevoelloosheid, tintelingen en verminderde tactiele discriminatie van de vingers.
De prognose is ongunstig; het is een progressieve aandoening en potentieel invaliderend met gevolgen voor ADL-vaardigheden.
Wanneer de diagnose hand-armvibratiesyndroom is gesteld, is uitleg over de diagnose en het reduceren van blootstelling aan trillingen essentieel.
